Diego Argote (Pudahuel, 1991)

Vive y trabaja en Santiago de Chile.

Fotógrafx, artista visual y Docente del Instituto Profesional de Arte y Comunicación Arcos. Chile

Docente del taller fotográfico del programa 4 a 7 Sernameg, dirigido a niñas, niñxs y niños del Colegio Albert Einstein de la comuna de Pudahuel. Trabaja con Madres y vecinas de la comuna en el recinto estudiantil, para un desarrollo en derechos integral y colectivo entre mujeres y disidencias.

Fotógrafx seropositivx, apela a la memoria y cuerpa disidente latinoamericana, periférica y transfeminista. Plantea como punto de partida una cavilación crítica, política y sexo-afectiva desde las biografías. Su obra se inscribe en la fotografía, escritura, instalación y vídeo; con el objetivo de indagar aproximaciones y discrepancias ante la mirada de la otredad.  

Su obra se ha exhibido en la Galería Bech, Galería Nemesio Antúnez de la Universidad Metropolitana de Santiago, Galería de Arte el Zagúan, Galería del Colegio Médico de Chile, Galería Balmaceda Arte joven.

También se dedica al registro de obras para artistas visuales.

Diego Argote

(Pudahuel, 1991)

He lives and works in Santiago, Chile.

Photographer, visual artist, teacher of the Professional Institute of Art and Communication, Arcos. He also serves as professor of the photography in a special program (4 to 7 SernamEG, National Women’s Service) for childrens at Albert Einstein School located in Pudahuel. The program focuses to help a worker’s mothers and neighbors of the community for a development in integral and collective rights between women and dissents.

HIV positive person. His works claim the memory and works from dissident and transfeminist Latin Americans artists, who focus on their  autobiography.

His artistical work focus on the photography, writing, installations and videos recording to investigate the subalternity and otherness.

His work has been exhibited at the different art space such as: Bech Gallery, Nemesio Antúnez Gallery of the Metropolitan University of Santiago, El Zagúan Art Gallery, Gallery of the Medical College of Chile, Chemical Gallery and Pharmacy, Balmaceda Gallery Young Art and Open Pit Museum.

He is also dedicated to register of audiovisual works and recordings. He writings curatorial and critical text for visual artists.
